Today, I’m celebrating five years since I published my first book, Sapphire Ice. In that time, I’ve published 22 books and sold over half a million copies. I’ve traveled the world, speaking and teaching about writing or faith-based topics, and have built an amazing community of readers and writer friends.

Home for (Almost) Good
For the last eighteen months, I have traveled the world, speaking and teaching on writing, writing style, and indie publishing to over 20 groups. It has been wonderful and exhausting. Just from September through November, I went back and forth from Kentucky to first Oregon, then Hawaii, then Australia, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.
Life and Work Goals for 2017
This past year has been quite an incredible year. Our family moved last year the week before Christmas. It took weeks to get the house under control enough to be able to sit down and focus on writing – just in time to make the deadline for On The Ropes. I traveled and spoke and taught at a few dozen locations through the year, including going to Hawaii and then to Australia. In the midst of all that, I had some personal things that cropped up here and there and totally took all of the wind out of any sails I hoped to have in the writing department. I actually went weeks at a time without going into my office. I did manage to finish A Harmony for Steve, but those two books were the only things I managed to release in 2016, despite the production schedule I’d established a year before.
Applying Your Faith
While we prayed, Gregg said something very profound to me, and it’s with his permission that I share this with you. He said that throughout history, God has allowed evil men to be leaders. But, his prayer was that as a nation, we would quit trying to put our faith in fallible man, and remember that our faith belongs to Jehovah God.
Words Have Power
I bowed my head and sincerely prayed for God to give me a “word”. Like a voice in my head, I heard the word “POWER”.
