BIOGRAPHY:

With nearly a million book sales, USA TODAY bestselling and Carol award-winning author Hallee Bridgeman writes action-packed romantic suspense focusing on realistic characters who face real-world problems. Her work has been described as everything from refreshing to heart-stopping exciting and edgy.

An Army brat turned Floridian, Hallee and her husband finally settled with their three children in central Kentucky so they could enjoy the beautiful changing of the seasons. When she’s not penning novels, you will find her in the kitchen, which she considers the ‘heart of the home’. Her passion for cooking spurred her to launch a whole food, real food “Parody” cookbook series. In addition to nutritious, Biblically grounded recipes, readers will find that each cookbook also confronts some controversial aspect of secular pop culture.

Hallee has served as the Director of the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, President of the Faith-Hope-Love chapter of the Romance Writers of America, Secretary and Assistant Programming Chair of Novelists, Inc. (NINC), is a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW), and the American Christian Writers (ACW). An accomplished speaker, Hallee has taught and inspired writers around the globe, from Sydney, Australia, to Dallas, Texas, to Portland, Oregon, to Washington, D.C., and all places in between.

Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide her. She prays her work here on earth is a blessing to you and would love to hear from you. You can reach Hallee at hallee@halleebridgeman.com

ABOUT HALLEE’S SON JOHNATHAN

Our son Johnathan Eugene Bridgeman, “JEB”, was killed just 3-weeks shy of his 15th birthday. You can read more about it at any of the following blog posts:

A Time of Lamentation
A Time of Lamentation

Gregg drove Scott and me to the scene which was just over a mile away. I frantically tried to get Kaylee or her husband on the phone. We arrived and Gregg told us to stay in the van while he went to talk to the Police officers.
Not far away, a sheet covered a tiny body that was far too small to possibly be covering the six foot tall man-boy I had just given a hug.

The Story of What Happened to Jeb
The Story of What Happened to Jeb

We have intentionally kept the details of what happened to our son Johnathan Eugene Bridgeman - "Jeb" - quiet because there was an active police investigation. We felt it was better to wait until everything was finalized. Gregg found out yesterday that the investigation is closed. I feel like it’s important to share, because there seem to be a lot of rumors and gossip around the driver and/or around Jeb.

Not Alone in the Fire
Not Alone in the Fire

We recently went back to the Fort Knox area for the first time since our son Johnathan (Jeb)’s memorial service. We visited his Taekwondo Master (where he earned his black belt), visited his youth group leader, we stayed with friends whose children and our boys were good friends and spent hours and hours playing and fellowshipping in the years we lived there, went to chapel where we often worshiped, and had a chance to go to the chiropractor. Everywhere we went, I saw Jeb. We had recent memories of Jeb, we had life with Jeb. It’s funny how the mind …

For Good
For Good

In the months since Jeb’s death, I’ve heard several people tell me to hold fast to the promises of Romance 8:28. “For all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
I love God. I believe wholeheartedly that I am called according to his purpose.
Gregg loves God. Gregg believes wholeheartedly that he is called according to God’s purpose.
Our surviving children, Kaylee, her husband Alex, and our son Scott, love God and believe wholeheartedly that they have been called according to His purpose.
But, friends, I gotta tell you – I think of a lot of adjectives when I think about the death of our son, and the word “good “ isn’t really in that list.
