Lynda’s Favorite Falafel

Lynda and Bill strategized over a meal of falafel and all the trimmings in a nearly empty restaurant in Turkey. Our family has falafel on our regular rotation of meals. We especially love it during our Daniel Fast because it’s purely vegan and a fantastic protein in any meal.

The Tools We Writers Use 😂

Love in Any Language starts with a battle scene. My husband Gregg, who is my editor, is former Special Forces and retired after serving in the military for 30 years. I knew he could “fix” anything I didn’t write correctly in the story. But, apparently, the battle scene I wrote in my head and never “saw” visually didn’t make any sense AT.ALL to someone who knew what it should be like.

So, he dug through our boys’ boxes of LEGOs and created a visual for me. 😂

Rick’s Ultimate Hamburger

Rick and Bill are always on the hunt for the best hamburger. I have tried many recipes and discovered that the ultimate best burger ever is so very simple.

Hibiscus Tea

In Love in Any Language, Emma and Jorge meet by providence in San Antonio when an unexpected storm drives them into a tea room. There they enjoy tea of course, and finger sandwiches, pastries, and Pico de Gallo to boot. Hey, it is San Antonio after all.

Word of Honor Wins the Carol!

So, the Romantic Suspense category came up and I won! Word of Honor is the 2023 Best Romantic Suspense Novel in the Carol Awards. Ya’ll – this is like the Oscars of Christian Fiction.

The Status of Love Makes Way

The good news about Love Makes Way is that it’s written! All 20 chapters are complete. The story is fantastic and so much fun. It is simply not edited yet. And by not edited I mean what’s written is my first, rough draft, filled with notes about research to myself and gaps in story because I know I wanted something there but didn’t really know what yet.
