First in Series is Free!

I will admit that I have bounced around back and forth with the pricing of the first books in all of my series. Long ago when I first started indie publishing, putting the first book in a series free was almost vital to being discovered by readers. Once Amazon began its Kindle Unlimited program, however, that kind of stopped being the “magic formula.”

I pulled them all from free a couple of years ago and priced them, but never really saw a great return on that. After spending the last week at a novelist convention, I decided that having the first book in each series free is right for me and my readers, despite any kind of unlimited reading programs out there.
