Hello! Thank you for allowing me to interview you on my blog! I polled thousands of readers what they would ask their favorite author. Here is just a sampling of the questions I received. Answer the first two, then pick any 5-7 of the readers' questions and answer them. When you return them, please send me a photo of you, the cover of your book, any blog links, social media links, and the links where people can purchase your book. Please also make sure to let me know what you're giving away (I ask all my guests to give something away, even if it's "just" an ebook.) You can return this to: interviews@halleebridgeman.com Thank you! Hallee Bridgeman 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. 2. Tell us about your current release. Please pick any 5-7 questions from this batch of questions submitted by my readers: If you knew ahead of time your book would benefit only one person on their spiritual journey, would you still write it? Do you feel pressured to compromise your standards in order to reach a larger audience or be more successful? What do you think is lacking in Christian Fiction? With all those characters in your head screaming to get out how do you write fast enough to get it all down? How do you push past the fear of your writing being average and be bold enough to sell it to a publisher(or agent or audience if you self publish)? Whats the first major news headline that you can remember and what do you remember? (ie. Moon Walk, Watergate, Pope being shot) Who was your first Screen/Musical Crush? What is your personal, most effective way to get past writer’s block? What inspired you to start writing, or did you always want to write? How did you determine whether to self-publish or seek a traditional publisher? What made you take the plunge and finally do it? Have you always wanted to write a book? Do you have your plotline and character development already laid out before you begin writing a book, or do they develop as you write? Do you have pre-determined length in mind when you first begin a book? What advice do you have for aspiring writers? What is your preferred method of writing? (computer, pen & paper, etc.) How did you make the initial step into writing your first novel. What were some of your major roadblocks and how did you overcome them? What is your inspiration for writing? Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever had a great writing idea? Who were some of your favorite authors as a child? (Book series, maybe?) Who do you envision your typical reader to be? I’m always intrigued by how writers get started…did you always have these books inside you and knew that you wanted to write them or did the idea just pop into your head one day and you decided to put pen to paper? Do you write your books for your own enjoyment or more for what you think people would want to read? Which of your characters most reflects your personality? What do you do when you hit a roadblock and have NO idea what to write? I assume when you start a book, you pretty much have the plot laid out. Do you ever change your mind later on in the book, and go in a different direction? What is one thing that you “never saw yourself doing” and either do it now or have done? Do you remember where you were or what you were doing when you started this story? Is there a book you wrote that you didn’t think would do well and it did? Or a book you thought would do well and it didn’t? Do you keep a story journal with lots of ideas for future books? Do you talk out plot lines with others, and if so, who? I often wondered....when you sit down to write that first line/paragraph in a new book/novella, is it difficult to get that started or do the words flow easily? At what age did you know you wanted to write? I’ve heard stories of people who were writing stories in childhood (which is what I’d expect). But I’ve heard of others who randomly started much later in life, and that is so interesting to me! What is the farthest location you traveled to in order to research a book? How hard is it to come up with names for your characters? What are some of the sources you use? How difficult is it for you to make sure those who are asked to review actually do review? Does this limit your thoughts on ARCs? How old were you when you wrote your first book? Do you have a particular character that you fell in love with and keep them alive in your mind?
