The flu hit our house last week. My 7-year-old, Scott, got it first and was prescribed Tamiful. I went ahead and gave to my youngest, Jeb, too, as a prophylactic measure, which worked, I think, since he never got sick. Then Gregg got it. Then I did and I’m still down with it. I AM feeling better than I have in days, so I’m hoping this is my last day with it. Thankfully, our daughter, Kaylee, was gone until Monday, so I’m praying she avoids getting it.
My house is a mess, my Christmas tree is still up, store-bought bread is in the bread box, and once the soups I made when I still felt well enough to cook ran out, my family has been sustaining itself on Japanese and Greek takeout — but we’ve survived it and all but me are well enough to be at school and work today.
So, the new momentum for the blog I’d planned for this year will have to be put off until next week. It’s driving me crazy, because I’ve been on vacation from writing since mid-December, and have been so looking forward to this week to get back to work!
Instead, I’m kicked back and reading The Hunger Games, which I am thoroughly enjoying.
I’m so grateful for your visit, today.
You would bless me if you added me to your feed reader or subscribed via email.

i’m so sorry you are sick too. it’s so hard for moms to be ill because we still have to be the mom. hoping yours doesn’t linger too long.
I’m so sorry y’all are sick! Please be careful with Tamiflu, though, especially with kids – it’s been implicated in suicides and suicidal thinking.
I’ve been a long-time reader at Hallee the Homemaker, and I had a vague notion that you also write fiction, but I wasn’t familiar with your books. Then I stumbled across one of your novels the other day on Kindle. I wondered if it was yours, and sure enough…
This is EXCELLENT. One of the best-written books I’ve read in a while, in every way.
