Two Down, One to Go

In July of 2020, I signed a 3-book contract with Revell Publishing, a Division of Baker Publishing Group. This contract is for my Love and Honor series, which centers around a U.S. Army Special Forces A-Team.

I had two books to finish before I could start this one: Valerie’s Verdict and Daisy’s Decision. Because of life in a pandemic, my writing pace was slowed WAY down, and it took a lot longer to get those two books completed than I had anticipated. I think I was just in a slump due to world events.

Now I’m pushing against a deadline of all three books due to my editor on September first. Of this year. Yes. 3 months and 2 weeks from now. Yikes. That was rough typing it out!

I write in “layers”. Basically, the first draft is all action and dialogue and I go in and then add scene setting, thoughts, feelings, and details.

Yesterday afternoon, I finished the first draft of book two. *Whew* Now on to book three. My prayer is that this one goes fast – seriously fast – so that I can spend time cultivating the thoughts, feelings, and scene settings to make the books what I envision them.

And now, off to plot book 3!
