Cover Reveal & Dedication

I typed “The End” yesterday afternoon on Greater Than Rubies.  It was the first draft, yes.  But I’m expediting everything with it and will have the first round of edits complete today or tomorrow.  My beta readers are standing ready and know it needs to be turned around quickly.  My goal of publishing the first part of December might end up looking like mid-December, but certainly well before Christmas.  It is going to be just over 50,000 words — which might make it considered a small novel instead of a novella, but I’m still going to use the term “novella” when referring to it.

It will be free, so keep an eye out for announcements regarding publication.

I received the final cover the other day.  Debi Warford did a beautiful job with it, I think.

And, because it answers the question of “why in the world did you write an entire novella to take place between books 1 and 2 of a trilogy?”, here is the dedication as it will be published:

For Kaylee Anne…

At fifteen, my daughter Kaylee read Sapphire Ice, Book 1 of the Jewel Trilogy. She fell in love with the characters and would talk to me about what she read and what she thought about what she read. I remember her sitting on the couch across from me one evening, finishing up the book on her Kindle. I knew she was nearing the end of it, and I was excited to talk about how it all resolved with her.

Suddenly, she said, “That’s it?!”

I looked up from whatever I was doing and said, “What do you mean?”

“No wedding?” Kaylee waved her Kindle in the air. “You take me through all of that, and don’t give me the wedding? I need the wedding, Mom.”

So, here it is my darling daughter. This is my gift to you…

The wedding of Robin Bartlett and Antonio Viscolli.
